Kafia Haile is a strategist who uses storytelling and education to advance policy change. She began her career at the Pentagon and in Iraq as a subject matter expert on political reconciliation, working to integrate former insurgents into Iraq’s political process.

Upon returning to the U.S., she merged her work with the arts to bring global politics to a wider audience. Kafia was a semifinalist for the prestigious
Nicholl Fellowship, administered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and wrote MR. HALL'S INTERVIEW, a short film described by Fortune as “a film everyone who works should see."

She has been quoted in USA Today, The Intercept, Mondoweiss, and featured in an interview with Al Arabiya TV. Additionally, Kafia is an advisory board member of The Greenprint. She has also served on the faculty at Tufts University and Clayton State University.

Kafia graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Spelman College, earned a master’s degree from The Fletcher School at Tufts University—where she was a Joan Gillespie Fellow—and received an MFA with distinction from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
